Some Other Top 25 Games

Welcome to College Football Saturday! Here's some series trivia for other Top 25 teams.

   After two straight losses to #6 LSU and #2 Florida, the #13 South Carolina Gamecocks host the Tennessee Volunteers, fresh off their fourth straight loss in SEC play. South Carolina is owned in this series 6-22-2, but the Gamecocks are 4-3 against the Vols since 2005. South Carolina is 4-8-2 against Tennessee at home and last won in Columbia in 2010. They first met in 1903, when the Gamecocks scored their only shutout of the Vols in the series, 24-0. The highest scoring game in the series was in 1995, when Tennessee spanked South Carolina 56-21. The last time Tennessee shut out South Carolina, outside of a tie, was 54-0 in 1929. Their last tie was 0-0 in 1942.

   The #22 Michigan Wolverines go to Lincoln to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Michigan leads the series 4-2-1, which includes two bowl games. This is the first time they played at Nebraska since 1911. They first met in 1905, when Michigan blanked the Cornhuskers 31-0. The highest scoring game in the series came last season when the Wolverines won 45-17. The last time Michigan shut out Nebraska was 20-0 in 1917. Nebraska has never shut out Michigan. Their only tie was 6-6 in 1911.

   The #24 Ohio Bobcats invade Oxford to play the Miami (OH) RedHawks. Ohio trails in this series 35-51-2, losing the last six games against the RedHawks. Ohio is 14-31-2 in Oxford and hasn't won there since 2004. They first met in 1908, when the RedHawks blanked the Bobcats 5-0. The highest scoring game in the series happened in 2003, when Miami won 49-31. The last time Miami shut out Ohio was 34-0 in 1991. The last time Ohio shut out Miami was 20-0 in 1982. Their last tie was 22-22 in 1989.

   The #25 Wisconsin Badgers host the Michigan State Spartans in Madison. Wisconsin trails in the series 30-21, but is 9-7 against the Spartans since 1993. The Badgers are 14-13 at home against Michigan State and 6-1 since 1993. They first met in 1913, when Michigan State won 12-7. The highest scoring game in the series was last season in Indianapolis, when the Badgers won 42-39. The last time Michigan State shut out Wisconsin was 36-0 in 1988. The last time Wisconsin shut out Michigan State was 32-0 in 1983. There are no ties in the series.
