Today in 2000 - DCA Contest in Scranton


Today in 2000, the Syracuse Brigadiers won a Drum Corps Associates competition in Scranton, Pennsylvania.    

Here are the results:

  1. Syracuse Brigadiers 92.90
  2. Empire Statesmen 90.60
  3. Hawthorne Caballeros 89.70
  4. Reading Buccaneers 89.30
  5. Connecticut Hurricanes 86.00
  6. Rochester Crusaders 84.90
  7. Bushwackers 76.10

Notables

  • Corps in DCA have no age limit and they were once called senior corps.
  • The majority of DCA contests are in the Northeast, including the Drum Corps Associates World Championships.  The All-Age part of the activity has now spread to the South, Midwest, and West Coast.
  • With the exception of the Rochester Crusaders, each corps competing in this contest was a past DCA Champion, including the then defending champion Syracuse Brigadiers.
  • Every corps competing in this contest made the 2000 DCA Finals.
